Movie Magic - Budgeting/Scheduling Workshop to be held at NIFTC

Paddy Higson of Antonine Films, a former board member of Scottish Screen, is to deliver a ‘Movie Magic - Budgeting/Scheduling Workshop’ at NIFTC in Belfast on June 17.
Higson has experience of delivering similar workshops in various colleges including the National Film School.
Antonine Films produced or co-produced many of the best Scottish films over the last ten years. Higson’s production company was behind award winning Scottish films such as ‘The Magdalene Sisters’, ‘Duck’, ‘Good Day for the Bad Guys’ and ‘Fridge’. Antonine Films’ biggest success was ‘Orphans’, which won four awards at the 1997 Venice Film Festival.
Higson is credited as responsible for finding, encouraging and pushing much of the country’s screen talent which has helped Scotland gain a self confidence in film rooted in the present more than the past.
It is proposed to break the workshop up into two sessions (one for scheduling and one for budgeting). The morning session will start at 10.00am and finish at 12.30pm. There will be a break for lunch and the afternoon session will start at 13.30pm and finish at 16.00pm.
