IHSE USA Announces Technology Lineup At 2023 NAB Show New York

News Image
IHSE USA has announced its technology lineup at the 2023 NAB Show New York, booth 1256, Oct. 24-26, at the Javits Center.

As a leader in high-performance KVM systems, the company will focus on its latest suite of solutions for KVM-over-IP (KVMoIP) with kvm-tec's Scalable and Media4Kconnect extenders for DisplayPort 1.2. Additionally, the company plans to present its latest IP compression KVM systems utilizing theFraunhofer IIS JPEG XS ISO/IEC codec for video over IP workflows. The company will also showcase its KVM-integrated Quad View solutions for 4K single-head or dual-head computer systems.

"Our mission is to help organizations to realize the most superior efficiency, quality, and service," said Dan Holland, marketing manager at IHSE USA. "At the 2023 NAB Show New York, you'll see the culmination of our latest efforts toward this goal, including the JPEG XS functionality. Working with Fraunhofer IIS, this is arguably the most compelling integration of hardware and software capable of transferring high-resolution and high-quality video data over standard Ethernet or other wired connections, even with limited computing resources."

Continuing the long-time relationship with Fraunhofer IIS' design team, IHSE has again partnered with them to develop a next-generation KVM system based on their high-performance JPEG XS codec. JPEG XS allows transferring high-resolution and high-quality video data over standard Ethernet or other wired connections with limited computing resources. Fraunhofer goes a step further by providing functionality for encapsulating code streams into file formats and transport streams. These formats are often essential in broadcasting workflows and equipment to fully leverage the low latency and high quality of JPEG XS.

By using Fraunhofer's JPEG XS SDK and IHSE's JPEG XS IP core for Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs), innovative and ultra-low latency broadcast, in-house, and gaming video routes can be realized with predictive and precise rate control. With this partnership, the library will be integrated into IHSE's Draco Con App, which will introduce a new dimension of flexibility to KVM systems. The software-based KVM solution enables users to access an IHSE KVM network via IP protocol from a standard, network-connected PC.

On display will be kvm-tec's Scalable Line, supporting networked 4K multiviewer capabilities over a 10G network switch. Unique features include the ability to control and manage up to 16 computer sources on a single display via a single keyboard and mouse. By simply moving the mouse inside the gridded cell and clicking, the mouse allows full control of the source. In addition, up to four Scalable receivers can be network-bonded to allow up to 64 sources across the four displays.

Thanks to the optimized compression technology and unique conversion processing, kvm-tec's award-winning media4Kconnect series delivers full-4K resolutions in perfect 4:4:4 color space and is compatible with 10G network switches. The media4Kconnect models are available in different versions to support standalone extension, redundancy, or — in a fully uncompressed version — up to 4K. These extenders can be used as high-performance, low-latency KVM point-to-point connections or as part of a larger KVM switching system. Switching can be done through either the on-screen display menu or directly through the provided kvm-tec switching manager software. The media4Kconnect provides a full array of user features to allow customized setups to eliminate the need for external signal and conversion adapters. For instance, the units can be configured to support two images that can be simultaneously displayed as either dual-4K, 4K+downscaled HD, or upscaled 4K and HD. These units support 4K DisplayPort 1.2 using a single duplex fiber-optic SFP module that extends the signals up to 300 meters (984 feet) with multimode fiber or up to 120 kilometers (74.5 miles) with single-mode fiber. Signals are transmitted with full 4:4:4 at 8-bit color in standard models or up to 4:4:4 at 10-bit in uncompressed models. Standard 4K resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 at 60Hz are achievable with low latency and delay-free transmission.

The IHSE Draco MultiView 4K60 enables the simultaneous operation of four computers displayed on a single display, with full access from a single keyboard and mouse. Offering four inputs and two outputs, the 1-RU solution is capable of handling four ultra-high-resolution video displays up to 4K/UHD at a 60Hz frame rate; users simply move the mouse from one display region to another. With programmable keyboard commands, real-time switching between video sources is also possible. By default, the system's individual screens can be arranged freely and displayed in different modes: full-screen, quad-screen, picture-in-picture, preview, 2+2, and free mode. Presets allow for instant switching between layouts. External control options are available via API or the GPIO interface.
