Fast Forward Video wins NAB AIM and AIM Editors' Choice Awards

Fast Forward Video, a world-leading provider of digital video recorder (DVR) technology, is the recipient of the coveted National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Award for Innovation in Media (AIM) as well as the winner of the prestigious NAB AIM Editors' Choice Award - both for the company's new compact COVERT DVR.
The new DVR was voted best product in the Content Management category by attendees of the NAB2004 Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas, April 17-22. A judging panel composed of key industry editors then made the COVERT DVR their winning selection on April 30.
"What better recognition for a product than this accolade by our industry peers and respected editors from leading electronic media publications?" said Paul DeKeyser, president and founder of Fast Forward Video. "The COVERT offers best-of-class features in a miniature, standalone, handheld DVR for applications requiring broadcast-quality recording. We're deeply honoured to receive these two major awards and will continue to build on the award-winning technology found in the COVERT to offer solutions to the broadcast, post-production, audiovisual, military, and security markets."
What really sets the COVERT DVR apart as a miniature, standalone DVR is the exceptional image quality, featuring scalable Motion-JPEG (MJPEG) compression for maximum image capture and outstanding 720 x 486 pixel image resolution on every frame. Freeze any frame, and you get a faultless picture every time.
Applications for the COVERT DVR include extreme sports productions, law enforcement, emergency first responders, and military and government agency surveillance. Designed with the broadcast industry award-winning technology of the Fast Forward Video OMEGA DECK and the ultra-compact Recon DVR, the COVERT DVR offers more features, smaller size, and greater flexibility and is easy to conceal. It is truly a go-anywhere DVR. Whether off-highway or in, rugged terrain, such as mountains or desert, this DVR is ideal for mobile, on-body or in-vehicle use. The COVERT DVR's standard USB 2.0 port allows instant downloading.
Two COVERT DVR models are available, providing a choice of storage options for users. Small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, slip into a pocket, or hang on a belt, the COVERT DVR cf measures 5.7 inches by 1.0 inches by 3.55 inches and is configured with two compact flash card slots for easy removal and transfer of recorded video. Measuring 5.7 inches by 1.0 inches by 4.20 inches, the COVERT DVR ide provides a choice between an ATAPI/IDE hard drive or a solid-state flash drive. All models are equipped for file transfer via an on-board USB 2.0 port. Both models provide removable, rechargeable batteries or low-voltage DC power input combined with low power drain for full portability.
