Narrative Entertainment Launches Recently Acquired Channels

Narrative Entertainment has launched its recently acquired channels using Broadcast Traffic Systems' (BTS) ENTERPRISE solution to manage its systems in a single integrated application.

The launch follows Narrative's announcement that it was to acquire Sony Pictures Television’s entire UK channel portfolio in May 2021. The transition was managed on behalf of Narrative Entertainment by The Hawk Media Partnership who are experts in delivering transformational broadcast projects.

BTS ENTERPRISE is a scalable application designed for broadcasters who require a comprehensive business solution that can be tailored to meet a specific business or operational workflow. ENTERPRISE contains all the modules and features needed to manage a Channel Management and/or Ad-Sales operation. Built using a modular structure it is possible to select only those modules that are required. Using ENTERPRISE, Narrative is able to manage all complex graphical effects, programme databases and licensing rights within one manageable solution.

Narrative Entertainment UK Limited took over seven channels earlier this year, rebranding four movie channels under the brand name ‘Great!’. The three children’s channels continue to run as POP, POP Max and Tiny POP. Narrative also took control of all digital assets associated with the channels.

Kelly Beavan, Head of Operations, Narrative Entertainment, commented: "Following in the footsteps of a well-established brand meant that we needed to continue to broadcast with minimal disruption. BTS has enabled us to transition seamlessly from our existing infrastructure and will allow us to exploit the large catalogue of programming that the new channels have access to."

With BTS ENTERPRISE, users are equipped for long term planning with features including multi-channel, region and currency, integrated auditing, and compatibility with all major operating systems and databases. It provides broadcasters with the tools for channel management as well as complete ad-sales control.
