Barco expands digital cinema team

Barco Digital Cinema has announced the appointment of Stephane Deckers as International Sales Manager and Scott Spector as US Business Manager for Digital Cinema.
These two key appointments reflect both on the tremendous growth in the company’s digital cinema sales since the introduction of its 2k projection technology and on the growing confidence that the business is now indeed on the verge of its breakthrough.
Sjoerd De Clerck, General Manager, Barco Digital Cinema, said: “We are very pleased with the addition of both Stephane and Scott to the Barco Digital Cinema team. Their experience will certainly help contributing to the success of Digital Cinema and our expanding International Dealership network.”
Deckers will report to Sjoerd De Clerck, General Manager, Barco Digital Cinema. He will lead the worldwide sales activities for the Digital Cinema market, help setting up the international sales strategy and coordinate the international marketing activities together with Keith Morris, Marketing Manager.
Deckers has over 10 years of experience within sales, marketing, channel management and business development. Most recently, Deckers was Business Development Manager Europe & Asia for Dalim GmbH, a software manufacturer in process automation for Publishers, Pre-press and Printers. Prior to Dalim GmbH, he worked with Alias Wavefront (subsidiary of SGI inc.) where he picked up his knowledge on Digital SFX and Post Production. In that role, he was responsible for Northern Europe, Middle-East & Africa.
Spector will be reporting to Tom Ray, Vice President & General Manager, Barco North America and to Sjoerd De Clerck, General Manager, Barco Digital Cinema. He becomes responsible for the US sales activities for the Digital Cinema market.
Spector has over 24 years of management experience in corporate and business development, plus technology, marketing, and operations management in companies including Microsoft, Sony, JVC, Mattel, Pioneer, Vivendi/Universal Entertainment, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Scott has a proven track record establishing profitable Global Brands, effective business strategies and significant market leadership.
“We warmly welcome Scott as a key member to our Digital Cinema group.” added Tom Ray. “With his background in building businesses in hi-tech entertainment markets and his strong industry contacts, Scott carries a drive and ambition that is highly complimentary to the experience of our established Digital Cinema team.”
