FII ANNOUNCE THE RETURN OF THE IRISH FILM BALL

THE Film Institute of Ireland (FII) have announced the return of the Irish Film Ball.
The FII Award is presented to an Irish Filmmaker for their outstanding contribution to Irish Film. This year it is joined by the inaugural Tiernan MacBride International Screenwriting Award which carries a prize of 10,000 Euro courtesy of Spyglass Entertainment and World 2000. The awards include the UIP Director’s Award, which is the largest award of its kind in Ireland, and three awards for best Irish, English and Animated short films.
Tickets for the 2001 Irish Film Ball are £100 each, and company tables are also available. The proceeds from the ball will be donated to the Irish Film Archive, which is a key function of the Film Institute of Ireland and is engaged in the ongoing preservation of our national film heritage.
The 2001 Irish Film Ball will be held on November 30. This year the ball returns to the RDS Concert Hall with a new catering and entertainment programme that promises a sophisticated industry evening for all.
If you would like any further information, or would like to pre-book tickets, please contact [email protected] or Tel: Lee at +353 679 5744. (CD)
