Gearhouse Broadcast has appointed John Williams as Head of Projects.

In his new role, John will oversee the technical and commercial performance of the Projects department and make a strategic contribution to overall business growth.

John brings 20 years of industry experience to the role and joins Gearhouse from Input Media, one of Europe’s leading sports production companies and a fellow subsidiary or Gravity Media Group. As Director of Technical Operations at Input Media, he played an integral part in delivering major productions, including the FA Cup and the French Open. Prior to that, John was Head of Production Technology and Technical Coordinator, having progressed in the company from his first engineering role as a VTR operator in 2001. His broadcast career began as a runner in the West End in 1999.

Williams said: "I have worked closely with Gearhouse for several years to deliver major sports productions with Input Media, so I'm thrilled to be taking on this role in the company. Gearhouse is growing rapidly alongside an industry that is evolving faster than ever before, and I’m looking forward to being hands-on in delivering world-class projects and further establishing us as an industry leader."

Ed Tischler, Managing Director at Gearhouse Broadcast UK said: "John brings a wealth of technical, commercial and leadership expertise to this role, so will be central to driving operational and business growth within our Projects team. As we continue to expand our services globally, it’s crucial that we have someone who can lead the Projects strategy and continue to deliver productions of the highest quality to our clients. John is just the person to do this."
