WISI To Unveil New Video Solutions At ANGA COM 2019

News Image
WISI is to unveil a new sophisticated video solutions for network operators and service providers at ANGA COM 2019 in Cologne (booth R11 in hall 8).

Highlights are new features for the Inca ABR Transcoder 3840, the new HXC module for the Inca Modular Series 4400, HTTPs Streaming for Inca's Multiscreen Launch Platform (MLP), SRT support for the FIREFLY Platform, the premiere of the Blueline Edge Series and GiaX HelEOS Ethernet Coax Overlay.

Chassis Redundancy in the Inca ABR Transcoder 3840
The Inca ABR Transcoder 3840 is a carrier-grade adaptive bitrate transcoder built for rapid deployment and reliable OTT video delivery. To ensure high availability, this product has been expanded to include N+1 chassis redundancy with support for multicast source IP masquerading for Source Specific Multicast (SSM) compatibility. Operators can enjoy peace of mind and maximize uptime with N+1 with SSM support and other redundancy features available in the 3840ABR including automatic source failover and redundant power supplies.

The Inca ABR Transcoder 3840 sets new performance standards in the international market, is optimized for multiscreen and OTT applications and can transcode up to 24 HD or 48 SD video services to frame-aligned, multi-bitrate profiles in a single rack unit.

HEVC Transcode
The new HXC module, compatible with the existing Inca Modular Series 4400, supports transcoding of next-generation HEVC for future proofing and optimizing video distribution. The HEVC codec provides compression savings of up to 40% while maintaining picture quality. Signals received in HEVC can be converted by the Inca Modular Series 4400 back to MPEG-4 AVC or MPEG-2 to ensure compatibility with legacy equipment. The HXC module helps operators support existing cable TV, IPTV, satellite delivery and processing infrastructure by transcoding linear SD and HD HEVC sources to MPEG-4 AVC or MPEG-2 outputs for IP transport video stream distribution.

WISI has also extended the Inca Modular Series 4400 feature set by added N+1 Chassis Redundancy, compatible with Source Specific Multicast (SSM) infrastructure.

HTTPs Streaming
Operators using Inca’s Multiscreen Launch Platform (MLP) can now send secure, encrypted HLS streams to subscribers using HTTPs. The MLP is an all-in-one carrier-grade transcoder, live stream packager and origin server for streaming video services. It is an ideal solution for hospitality applications and contained networks such as hospitals, hotels, cruise ships, dormitories or MDUs. Using the MLP’s intuitive web-based management tools, video operators can easily create HLS playlists for secure HTTPs delivery to ABR-capable set-top boxes, TVs, smartphones and tablets.

SRT Support in the FIREFLY
WISI has extended its FIREFLY Platform with open source video transport protocol and technology stack SRT (Secure Reliable Transport). SRT optimizes streaming performance across unpredictable networks with secure streams and easy firewall traversal, bringing the best quality live video to users. The main advantages to using SRT are the secure AES encryption and the packet loss recovery through advanced low latency retransmission techniques.

New Blueline Edge Series
The WISI GT BLE 23 is an optimized compact-headend for B2B applications. This new product allows telecommunications operators to receive and process IP transport streams, and modulate them to up to 12 QAM channels. The field-proven advanced multiplexer is integrated and seamlessly adapts the transport streams to the operator’s network requirements. Configuration is intuitive and quick, and this efficient compact-headend is easy to install in a 19” rack or on the wall.

GiaX HelEOS Ethernet Coax Overlay
WISI and technology partner GiaX have developed solutions for virtual node split, mobile backhauling and business customer access with symmetrical Ethernet. GiaX HelEOS Ethernet Coax Overlay is a new and cost-effective solution that can be implemented quickly and flexibly to adapt the network to future requirements. The bridge technology allows operators to extend their infrastructures without intense investments in earthwork. This 10G Ethernet over coax solution saves up to 70 percent of costs of regular fibre net upgrades and significant operational efforts. The point-to-point transmission of symmetrical Ethernet signals allows a bandwidth of up to 10 Gbps in both directions on the coax line in the HFC network. The transmission takes place in the frequency range between 1 GHz and 3.5 GHz.

With these new products and features ready to be unveiled at ANGA COM, WISI continues its commitment to help customers face these challenges and continue delivering beautiful, uninterrupted video 24/7. WISI maintains its status as a world pioneer in broadband reception and distribution technology and has been helping operators adapt to new technology for almost 100 years.
