'Killing Eve' Writer Returns To BBC With New Legal Thriller

News Image
The BBC has released a first-look image of its new upcoming legal thriller, 'The Victim'.

Rob Williams, who penned an episode of BBC hit 'Killing Eve', is returning to the channel with his own four-part creation.

The Victim is set within Scotland's unique legal system and is told through the eyes of the plaintiff and the accused.

It stars Kelly Macdonald ('Trainspotting', 'Boardwalk Empire'), James Harkness ('Rogue One: A Star Wars Story') and John Hannah ('Four Weddings and a Funeral'), asking the question: who is really 'the victim'?

Kelly Macdonald plays Anna Dean, whose nine year old son was murdered fifteen years ago. She is accused of revealing her son's killer's new identity online and conspiring to have him murdered. Hard working family man Craig Myers played by James Harkness is the victim of the vicious attack, after being identified online as a notorious child murderer.

John Hannah plays DI Grover, an experienced detective investigating the attack on Craig and trying to discover who made the online accusation against him.

The show opens on day one of the criminal trial in Edinburgh's High Court, following the legal proceedings, while also covering the events leading up to the trial.

The Victim is a STV Production for BBC One.
