WATSON TO LAUNCH NEW FILM LOCATIONS BROCHURE
MIKE Watson the recently appointed Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport will launch the new film locations brochure Mansion Locations in Scotland, at Kippenross House, Dunblane on January 9.
The distinctive purple brochure is part of a joint initiative from Scottish Screen and VisitScotland to attract filmmakers to come to Scotland.
Steve McIntyre Chief Executive of Scottish Screen is delighted that the Minister has agreed to launch Mansion Locations in Scotland.
He said: “We are very pleased that the Minister is launching this brochure, the first of a series of projects we are planning with VisitScotland . It is a great honour to have Mike Watson, who has cabinet responsibility for both our organisations, supporting this initiative.”
Scotland has over 500 mansion houses available for filming in all parts of the country. These range from the most lavish and extravagant nineteenth century grand houses to the more traditional Scottish baronial and even to thirties style Art Deco dwellings. Scotland's mansions have featured in productions such as ‘House of Mirth’, ‘Rob Roy’, ‘Monarch of the Glen’, ‘High Road’, ‘Sword of Honour’ and many others. (CD)
