Virtually – By Hamlet

In the course of our lives over a year we seldom expect to have so many social upheavals to deal with, but since the Brexit vote last year things just haven't slowed down at all.

Now NAB is done and dusted, we can look forward to the French elections, the start of Brexit negotiations, and our own elections. The worst that can happen is that broadcasters will decide to transmit Virtual Reality programming and we will all sit around with Oculus Rift, Samsung or Google cardboard box VR headsets... Could it be worse than having 3D glasses on?

At Hamlet, our game is not virtual, but simply providing no-nonsense test and measurement and routing switchers to the television broadcast industry covering baseband, IP, ASI RF up to 4K and UHD.

Hamlet offer the latest in modular and 12G, Matrix Switch Routing Switchers, the DigiTek DT900, MicroFlex Mach2 and the Enterprise T&M products, they ensure continuity of your operations whilst being cost effective.

The new MSC-XDM modular SDI Routers offer extreme levels of routing flexibility, with a choice of three base models optimizing operation and cost. Units are expandable, up to 16x16, 32x32, and 64x64, in 1RU, 2RU or 4RU of rack space. Modular systems can be independently expanded by 8 input or 8 output Modular I/O cards, allowing for asymmetrical matrix sizes. Mix I/O cards types include 75 Ohm BNC and SFP module cards. Using SFP modules enables matrix sizes to be totally configurable. The new MSC-UXD 12G-SDI UHD routing switchers are currently available in 8x8, 8x4, and 4x4 matrix sizes and offer support for 4K and UHD SDI formats with backwards compatibility for 6G, 3G, 1.5G and SD rates.

The DigiTek DT900 1U rack test and measurement platform is widely used by system integrators worldwide and is a standby for broadcasters who require quality precision instrumentation. With four input modules slots, options for EYE and test signal generation all from one instrument, its design encompassed the very first display of four simultaneous trace displays enabling four cameras to be aligned simultaneously.

The double award-winning MicroFlex Mach2 – the smallest handheld T&M platform in the world – sets the standards for functionality and price. Now with 3G/HD/SD video, audio measurement and monitoring, plus "3G/HD/SD Test Signal Generation and EYE measurement all-in-one package", the platform switches on from the get-go – no delays, with industry standard display features and patented cursor measurement.

The Enterprise VX2 is well established at broadcasters in the USA and Europe. Twice award-winning, the Enterprise is now the premier solution for those requiring a portable real-time analyser covering analysis of HEVC, H.264, MPEG-2 over IP, ASI, OTT and RF streamed services – with the RF spectrum analyser and HDSDI.

Hamlet is virtually the only company that continues to offer you the best bang for your buck. So we look forward to hearing from you with your requirements. Contact sales
