NEP Europe Order New UHD OB Vans

Broadcast Solutions has revealed that it took orders for five new UHD OB vans from NEP Europe at IBC2016 earlier this month.

Four of the trucks will be 8 to 12 camera vehicles, while the fifth will be a triple-expanding trailer capable of handling more than 30 cameras. The smaller models will be based on the company's Streamline Family concept, with pre-configured and almost 'off the shelf' OB vans.

For the four smaller vehicles, they will be based on the S8 (as used for HD34K) or the S12 4K (used for UHD-41); HD34K being NEP's latest UHD OB van works with up to eight UHD cameras, and goes on air soon after IBC. Meanwhile, NEP Switzerland's UHD-41 is currently on production with Swisscom Teleclub, using Broadcast Solutions' 12-camera UHD-41 truck – a Streamline S12 which uses a new room layout but a retains a typical Streamline audio/video system. Both trucks have Grass Valley switchers and use the 2SI (two sample interleave) Quad Link format of UHD.
