More Combinations Down A Single Fibre

News Image
Our fibre optics catalogue continues to grow and grow thanks to the acquisition of Communications Specialists Ltd by Artel Video Systems.

This also opens up more opportunities to expand our Fiberlink range and makes it a lot easier to supply from across the pond. Fiberlink is designed for sending high quality audio, video, and data across as little fibre as possible and is specifically designed for broadcast and other professional industries.

Fiberlink contains a vast catalogue of combinations for sending a wide variety of signals across one or two fibres. Fibre is well ahead of the competition when it comes to a cost effective and efficient way of transmitting your content. Whether it is multi-mode fibre for distances less than 1,000 metres or single-mode for above and beyond; the Fiberlink range will have the signals that you want to transmit or receive. Send and receive 3G-SDI, RGB video, audio, different types of data, Ethernet, contact closure and more. With flexibility and huge amounts of bandwidth the Fiberlink range can offer all types of signal combinations from a single unit. With all these combinations and channels, Fiberlink's wide range of audio and video signals is compatible with the Optical Matrix.

To ensure signal integrity, all signals are equalized prior to fiber optic transmission and re-clocked on the receiver. Both the transmitter and receiver are immune to pathological signals over the entire budget link and operating temperature range for use in all sorts of environments.

The Fiberlink series is adding more and more bidirectional devices to its arsenal. The SDI Flex 3394 series allows bidirectional transmission of 3G, HD or SD-SDI and audio, perfect for use in broadcast when needing access to multiple links at once. In addition to broadcast quality audio and video channels, you can transmit RS-Type data, Ethernet and contact closure simultaneously for full control. Almost all transmission systems in our Fiberlink range offer more than just multiple signals, you can choose from ST or LC connectors, transmission over one or two fibres, and single-mode or multi-mode based on your requirement, environment and budget.

The Fiberlink series of devices are available in small footprint box versions with screw brackets for easy placement and card versions for slotting into a rack adapter. If video is not what you are looking for but you want the flexibility and control that the 3394 has to offer, we recommend the 5200 series from Fiberlink offering bidirectional audio, data, Ethernet and contact closure over one fibre. The applications in which these two units can be used are endless, but it is ideal for broadcast or corporate studios, OB Vans, Point-of-View Cameras, Rental & Staging, auditoriums, stadiums and theatres, airport or transportation hubs, distance learning, surgical or medical imaging and more.

Let's not forget the world's first battery operated 3G/HD/SD-SDI fibre optic transmission system for in-the-field use, the SDI Beamer kit is a great combination of value and functionality. The kit includes 2 SDI Beamers (one transmitter, one received), 2 power supplies and 2 9V batteries for redundancy. The SDI Beamer meets SMPTE standards, and offers support for multi-mode and single-mode fibres right out of the box.

Artel Video Systems' range is also available; this includes media transport platforms over IP, fibre and optical distribution systems. Artel's flagship DigiLink platform is used by the world's largest telecommunication companies, CATV operators, and video service providers for mission critical primary video feeds for many of the world's most watched events.
