BDL set to display XBOX USB modular prompter

BDL Autoscript, at booth L11377, will use the NAB show to display for the first time the XBOX USB – a modular prompter for use with laptops or desktop PC's.
The XBOX unit is a small battery-powered adapter that can interface to the computer via the USB port. Additional clip-on modules include an XBOX VDA/mains adapter providing a universal mains input and four additional composite video prompt outputs. Also on view will be the XBOX remote wireless video transmitter that can be used on location with a hand held prompter or Steadicam.
BDL will also display a new 8.4 inch TFT on-camera prompter with folding hood for use with wide-angle lenses and weighing no more than a conventional 6" on-camera prompter.
Other products on show will include the latest developments in the MOS prompter protocol for electronic newsroom interfaces, remote prompter access via the internet, and a selection of new conference and studio display equipment.
BDLs unique use of the MOS protocol will see the development of a new generation of prompter. In allowing real-time communication between devices, commands can be sent from any MOS-enabled device to the rest of the network. This will enable a BDL prompter to control elements of, or even an entire, news transmission.
The latest developments in the well-proven WinPlus prompting software for Windows will be shown on-line. While WinPlus can interface to any of the world's major automated newsroom systems it will also run as a stand-alone device offering resilience to the overall installation.
A complete range of TFT flat-screen prompters will be displayed in sizes ranging from 6" to 18". An 8.4" TFT for mini-jibs and location use, with a folding hood, will be offered for ENG use and most panels have Hi-brite sunlight readable and on-board power supply options.
Enhanced for 2002 the Windows driven remote controlled Rise and Fall glass stands will also be featured. Each has 99 infinitely variable preset heights between one and two meters. Up to eight glass stands can be driven at any one time to cope differing heights of presenters or set ups.
