TSL complete BBC Millbank Parliamentary Broadcasting Studio
Television Systems Ltd (TSL) have announced the completion of their upgrading project at BBC Millbank Parliamentary Broadcasting studio.
The facility is now in use, utilising recording and playout with local studio and newsroom facilities. TSL were responsible for the project management and installation of the following areas: production and sound gallery, record bank, transmission suite, graphics suite, new cameras and moving an existing edit suite. These systems were integrated with all new digital central technical facilities, including a newsroom facility for 120 journalists, that were engineered and project managed in-house by BBC Technology and BBC News Resources.
With the original facility being mainly analogue and the control rooms needing updating, the new installation proved to be quite a challenge.
TSL's past experience with the BBC put them in a strong position to be able to meet the requirements for this installation.
