News solutions expert gets behind Quantel

In a bid to help further promote the highly successful generationQ News and Sport systems, Quantel has brought former Sony product manager and New Solutions expert, Norman Rouse, on board.
Rouse said: "I have been watching Quantel's rapid move into the forefront of the news/sports solutions business over the last few years.
"This had become progressively less of a pleasure as Quantel began winning contracts from under my nose. The obvious solution was to join the company".
He continued: "Seriously, Quantel has an enormous technology lead in the news/sports business and I am delighted to be able to help them take generationQ to the widest possible market."
Aptly chosen for the job, Rouse has considerable experience on the supplier/integration side of the business, but also a real news production background from his time at the newly set-up Coventry Cable in the later 1980's, where he organised, managed and ran the station's entire news output.
Trevor Francis, Quantel Business Manager (News/Sport) said: "I have known Norman for many years, particularly from my time at ITN, and I always greatly admired his knowledge, professionalism and judgement. He will be a major asset to our team."
