Avid announces Experience Avid|naked Tour partners

Avid Technology Europe have announced the names of industry-leading manufacturers who will be participating in the Experience Avid|naked Tour taking place across Europe throughout 2002.
A total of ten industry-leading companies - Sony, Panasonic, Snell & Wilcox, Anystream, Compaq, Open TV, Sonic Solutions, Telestream, Boris FX and Tektronix – have pledged their support for Avid's new pan-European marketing initiative, which is replacing Avid's presence at IBC 2002. These companies will be involved in a variety of ways including giving technical presentations, providing key speakers and loaning equipment.
Taking place in nine cities across Europe, the Experience Avid|naked Tour is a series of conference style events with a "no nonsense" approach to customer communication. Run in each country for two to three days depending on local requirements, each event will be made up of sessions specifically developed to focus on the Broadcast, Post Production and New Media markets.
Jeff Stewart, Avid's European Product Marketing Director said: "The aim of the tour is to get closer to our customers, giving them access to relevant and useful information to help them run their businesses more effectively. By including these key industry players, we are giving customers the opportunity to gain information from a variety of experts covering a wide range of disciplines. It's also a great vehicle for these companies to communicate with large numbers of industry professionals in a focused and intimate environment."
He added: "Visitors will benefit from the opportunity to enhance their industry knowledge and discover new ways to maximise their technical assets, increase productivity and become more cost effective."
There will be three kinds of sessions - panel discussions on industry topics incorporating views from customers around Europe, technical seminars covering topics such as Standards for Interchange and Streaming, and Avid In Practice focusing on real life installations and how they operate.
Visitors will be able to register for each event via the www.avid.com/experience_naked website.
The first event will take place in Berlin, Germany on Wednesday 15 May 2002, followed by events in Spain, Italy, France, UK, Holland, Denmark, Sweden and EMEA. The UK event is scheduled to take place from 25-27 June 2002. Location and agenda information will be announced soon.
