Digi-Box order first shipment of AJA Video's award winning IO Product

Digi-Box have announced that they will be one of the first companies to receive the new Io product from AJA Video.
An order for fifty Io systems was placed during NAB 2003, with the first delivery expected in June. Io from AJA Video is the first uncompressed audio/video FireWire capture device for Final Cut Pro 4 and was chosen for a Vidy Award during NAB. The Vidy Award is presented in recognition of outstanding achievements in the advancement of the art and science of video technology.
A high end, 8 or 10-bit broadcast video device, Io allows the connection of professional analogue or digital audio/video to the Apple PowerPC G4 or PowerBook G4 through a simple FireWire interface. Developed in close co-operation with Apple, Io is designed to work with Final Cut Pro 4, the next generation of Apple's Emmy award winning professional video and film editing software. Io is also the first product designed to take advantage of the new multi-channel audio architecture of Final Cut Pro 4.
Io's "plug 'n' play" architecture reduces the need to install PCI cards, serial port adaptors, or multiple drivers. In-built multi-format recognition (it supports component and composite analogue video, SDI digital video, balanced analogue audio, AES/EBU digital audio, optical audio, RS-422 machine control and genlock) gives superior confidence to the professional, post production industry, with the design complementing rack-mounted devices (Apple's Xserve and Xserve RAID), or a desktop arrangement.
