OmniBus to develop playout automation software for BBC broadcast
BBC Broadcast have confirmed ambitious plans for their new London based headquarters, The Broadcast Centre, which will be the "most advanced" of its type in the world.
It will retain leading broadcast automation solutions provider, OmniBus Systems to help develop extended playout automation functionality.
OmniBus and BBC Broadcast signed an initial landmark deal at the start of April 2003, cementing the contract for OmniBus to develop software by expanding their Colossus multi-channel, multi-delivery control system. OmniBus' new G3 technology, unveiled at NAB2003, will be at the heart of the project.
OmniBus’ senior vice president, strategic sales, Greg Hoskin, said: "We are delighted to be offering BBC Broadcast a cutting edge solution for one of the most incredible projects in broadcasting. OmniBus aims to provide the innovation, flexibility and robustness for playout automation software required by BBC Broadcast."
