Business production line launched for UK producers

The Production Guild have launched recruitment for The Production Line, a new business programme for up to 30 new and emerging UK film producers.
Funded by the Film Council's Training Fund via the National Lottery, the Production Line is a unique two-week programme of talks, case scenarios, training, coaching and mentoring which will bring best business practice to the art of producing UK Features.
A key objective of the Production Line is to seek to address one of the key issues raised by the Relph Report - how can the industry enhance the market viability and commercial success of new UK feature films.
The Production Line will place the need for greater creative and business development of film projects within a deep awareness of the real and distinct demands of UK distribution and exhibition.
Equally significantly, the Production Line is seeking to identify the next generation of UK producers who will bring new stories to new audiences: applications are particularly welcome from women, people from ethnic minorities and people with disabilities.
Based at Ealing Studios in London, the Production Line will run from June 9-13 and again on June 16-20, and will cover development for the market, protecting your rights, developing and testing project proposals and business plan, managing the practical realities of physical production, and securing the best possible returns on projects.
