BBC Resources pay deal agreed

BECTU members in BBC Resources have voted to accept a 2.9% pay rise, secured and recommended by the union after lengthy negotiations.
In a postal ballot, which March 14, more than nine-tenths of participants backed the union's recommendation to accept the offer.
The company, a wholly-owned subsidiary providing TV facilities to the BBC and other programme-makers, will now increase salaries from April, the anniversary date for pay negotiations.
In addition to the basic rise, BBC Resources have also agreed to introduce a minimum wage for the company, which is in line with Corporate BBC policy, and will improve salaries for trainees by more than 2.9% in response to union demands.
Results from the postal ballot reveal that 42.3% of members took part, with 91.9% of them voting in favour of the rise.
