IOV Cancel Coventry Exhibition

After months of talks with EMAP and its event management team behind the Broadcast Video Expo (BVE), the Institute of Videography (IOV) has agreed a deal that will see it take a much larger role at both the London and Manchester BVE exhibitions in 2012.
The agreement means that the IOV will not be holding its usual ProVideo exhibition in Coventry next year, but instead will be bringing its unique range of professional videography-based presentations to BVE in a dedicated exhibition floor theatre – with an exclusive IOV Member lounge area attached. Other regular features of the IOV’s event will also be incorporated into this IOV-themed zone, including membership information and sign-up desk, VideoSkills training and all the other usual membership features that were originally hosted at the IOV’s Coventry event.
The other main attraction at the IOV’s show was the IOV Awards ceremony, showcasing the very best in Corporate Video, Wedding Day Film, Music Video and Documentary Film production. This important and prestigious event will now be held alongside the BVE North event in November – details of which will be announced in the New Year.
IOV Chairman, Ron Lee, said: "We’ve developed a very healthy and friendly working relationship with the organisers of BVE and its predecessors over the years and have always supported their London event. With the introduction of their Manchester event it seemed logical for us to combine our efforts withthose of EMAP and build a much stronger videography element to both events. With added pressures on budget and time, we are also sure that this news will be welcomed by both organisations’ exhibitors and visitors alike."
Charlotte Wheeler, Event Director for BVE added:"We are really pleased to have come to an agreement with the IOV. As Europe’s leading trade association for professional videographers their increased involvement and support will add yet another dimension to BVE which has otherwise been missing. We appreciate that the IOV has a dedicated and loyal following who we look forward to welcoming to both events next year. We are also really looking forward to helping the IOV engage with new members and hope this will be a long-term arrangement going forward."
