Technicolor Launch Second Screen App

Video technology company Technicolor has launched MediaEcho, a new app to enable viewers to see useful information about what they are watching on their ipad, laptop or mobile phones.
According to multiple surveys, up to 70% of consumers use additional devices (laptop, tablet, mobile) to supplement their home viewing experience, whether engaging in social media or browsing for more information about the program they are viewing.
MediaEcho is designed to synchronise content including cast, crew and production information, historical facts, audio and video onto a tablet device that allows viewers to engage with the programme without cluttering the main screen, according to Technicolor.
The app can also assist with integration of social media, allowing users to post comments, share content and connect during their viewing experience, and can enable e-commerce within the app, allowing fans to purchase items related to the programme from their tablet.
