Hat Trick Continues To Woo International Broadcasters With Dinner Date

Dating show Dinner Date is to premiere on Seven Network in Australia from July 26, following a deal closed by Hat Trick International.
This news comes as the format enjoys huge success on ITV1 in the UK with the second series peaking with an audience of 1.55 million viewers and outperforming Channel 4's Come Dine With Me.
Seven Network Australia joins Direct 8 in France which has also created a local version of the show and is currently airing its second season in primetime.
Additionally, the first finished series of DInner Date has been acquired by BBC Lifestyle Africa, Vitaya Belgium, Nelonen Finland, RTE Ireland and BBC Lifestyle Poland. Hat Trick International has retained worldwide distribution rights for the Australian and French versions.
Sarah Tong, Director of Sales at Hat Trick International, said: "Food and dating shows remain popular the world over. So, as a combination of the two, Dinner Date appeals to both fan bases. If the increased ratings and subsequent enthusiasm for a second series are anything to go by, Dinner Date is becoming a very hot property for international buyers."
Dinner Date offers singles a change to try their hand at finding romance, through the love of food! In each episode, one lucky singleton is invited to be a guest at three dinner, each cooked by a blind date. The guest is offered five menus from which they pick their three preferred meals. Over the next week, they meet their chosen dates, going to each of their homes for the dinner they have designed and now have to cook. Based on their compatibility during the date, the guest will choose one of the three hosts they wish to reward with a romantic dinner for two in a restaurant and viewers will wait to see if it will be love at first bite.
