4DVD Signs New Deal With Gilbert

Channel 4's wholly-owned DVD distribution arm, has bolstered its roster of UK comedy talent, after striking a new deal with multi award-winning Welsh stand-up comedian Rhod Gilbert.
After a closely fought bidding war with other major distributors, 4DVD was able to secure the deal, which kicks off with the release of Rhod's second live DVD this November.
4DVD has an established and successful relationship with Gilbert, one of the hottest names in stand-up today.
Rhod's first DVD, Rhod Gilbert and The Award Winning Mince Pie, was released by 4DVD last November and was the fastest selling debut stand-up DVD of 2009, and the third best-selling stand-up title of the year, behind Michael McIntyre and Lee Evans. It also won the best DVD award at The Chortle Awards in March.
Gilbert commented: "I'm really happy to be working with 4DVD again, after the success of my debut DVD. This latest show is a journey through my life, generally upsetting people, and basically ranting and raving for an hour. It seems to have worked before and I’m sure it will again."

The DVD package will include Rhod's critically acclaimed sell-out show, Rhod Gilbert & the Cat that Looked Like Nicholas Lyndhurst, plus a number of exclusive bonus features. The DVD was recently recorded at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo and Rhod will be touring again later this year.
Under the deal, 4DVD has secured worldwide DVD and TV rights to the show.
