UK Debut For NTP's AX24 Convertor

A leading technical business is to show a new signal convertor for the first time in the UK.
NTP Technology's AX24 eight-channel ultra-high-quality analog-to-digital/digital-to-analog audio signal converter makes its first British exhibition appearance in February at Broadcast Video Expo, Earls Court 2, London.
It will be demonstrated on stand H9 in co-operation with Middlesex-based eMerging Ltd.
The NTP DAD AX24 is designed for use with high-end digital audio workstations where the maximum possible recording quality is required.
It supports 44.1 up to 192 kHz sampling rates as well as the 352.8 kHz DXD sampling rate used for recording and editing Super Audio CDs.
An optional high-quality microphone preamplifier makes the AX24 the world's most transparent A/D converter microphone preamplifier.
One of the latest additions to the expanding list of NTP DAD AX24 users is NDR Hamburg which recently installed 12 systems following the successful completion of listening tests as part of the network's Broadcast Sound Studio 1 project.
Located in Rothenbaum, NDR's Broadcast Sound Studio 1 and Regie 1 are designed primarily for recording the NDR Bigband, widely acknowledged to be one of the finest bands in Germany.
Studio 1 is built around a 72-fader SSL Duality and Sequoia digital audio workstation software. Eight NTP DAD AX24 converters are connected via MADI to the workstation.
"This was, without exaggeration, one of the best acoustics-related technical decisions for the NDR I have been involved in during the past few years," commented NDR sound engineer Michael Plötz.
"The digital audio world now enjoys incomparably good sound thanks to the use of the AX24 in the production chain of this studio," he said, noting that the combination of a DAD AX24 and the SSL Duality console "places us in a new analog/digital world".
In addition to NDR Hamburg, users of NTP DAD audio signal processors include Bauer Studios, CMC Studios, Danish Radio, DEX Mastering, DPA Microphones, Galaxy Studios, Lindberg lyd, Master Touch, McGill Unversity, Moscow Music Conservatory, NHK, NRK, and Real Sound.
It is also used by Royal Danish Opera House, Royal Opera London, Sidney Opera house, SK Works, SoundWorks/Jeff Sheridan, Spanish Radio, St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Stock Fish Records, Swedish Radio, Telarc International, Ultimo Productions and the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra.
NTP Technology develops, manufactures and distributes broadcast-quality digital audio routers, signal processors and control software for the world market.
The company was established in 1958 and is a major supplier of high-reliability audio routing systems for major international broadcasters.
NTP products are integrated into television and radio stations as well as major production centres, post-production facilities and outside broadcast vehicles.
