Tango Is The Missing Piece For Jigsaw

eMerging, the UK distributors for Merging Technologies' Pyramix audio workstation and the Smart AV Tango control surface, has signed a supplier agreement with Jigsaw Systems, the Nottingham-based hi-tech equipment retailer.
Under the new deal, inked after the Broadcast Video Expo show earlier this year, Jigsaw will be able to offer Pyramix systems and Tango controllers to their high-end customers in the creative audio-visual and IT industries.
Mark Rickaby, Audio Consultant at Jigsaw Systems, said: "We're well known for being Pro Tools suppliers, but we've never carried Pyramix before. However, when eMerging showed us the Tango at the back end of last year, we thought it had a lot of potential. We put the Tango on our stand at the Broadcast Video Expo show in February, and the response we got from visitors there was so overwhelming, we signed the deal with eMerging shortly afterwards."
Tango, which may be used with Apple's Logic, Steinberg's Nuendo and Digidesign's Pro Tools DAWs as well as Merging's Pyramix, offers many of the features of expensive digital mixing and control surfaces, costing tens of thousands of pounds, such as an assignable, touch-screen-driven control surface, moving faders and a touch-sensitive job wheel. By contrast, the main Tango base unit (without extra fader expansion panels) retails from Jigsaw for well under £6,000 ex VAT.
Richard Bowen, eMerging's Co-Founder, said: "Jigsaw has an established customer base of AV recording and post-production professionals - exactly the people to whom an integrated Tango/Pyramix system will appeal. They're logical UK sales partners for both brands, and a pleasure to do business with. We look forward to many years of working together."
