Class On Demand To Support Creation Of The Kiowa County Media Centre

A provider of professional educational products for creative markets, Class on Demand, has just announced the donation of their video-based training programs to the Kiowa County Media Centre Project, launched after an EF5 tornado destroyed 95% of this Kansas community's houses and businesses.
Contributions of the award-winning training programs include select titles from NewTek and Sony will play an integral part in educating community journalists.
Janet West, President of the Kiowa County Media Centre's Board of Directors, said: "We can't thank Class on Demand enough. Citizen-journalists are the backbone of our efforts with this project. Because of the instruction provided by Class on Demand, our residents will be able to produce quality programming and bridge the communication gap that has existed since the tornado."
Paul Holtz, Founder of Class on Demand, said: "We are happy to help the citizens of Kiowa County rebuild their community. We admire their resilience and applaud their forward thinking and innovative approach to communications as reconstruction begins."
Upon completion, The Kiowa County Media Centre will be a 5,000 square-foot facility with energy-efficient designs, technologies and equipment. It will consist of a small television studio, a small internet radio station as well as a studio for internet news. The state-of-the-art facility will also house the latest in video, audio and graphics workstations.
Phase One of the Media Centre Project is currently underway, incorporating the construction of a 22-foot HDTV Production Trailer containing four HDTV cameras, as well as a collection of HDTV production equipment. The launch is scheduled to go online in November 2009.
A transitory television studio will also be assembled within the new Kiowa County Community Building. Construction is scheduled to begin in the next few weeks. The Class on Demand training programs will be offered in both the Production Trailer and at the studio facilities.
