September Films Secures Access To The World's Biggest Wedding

DCD Media-owned September Films has secured exclusive access to the wedding of Manuel Uribe, the world's heaviest man.
'My Big Fat Mexican Wedding' will follow Manuel, who hit the headlines in 2006, weighing in at an incredible 85 stone, and his bride-to-be Claudia Solis, as they prepare to tie the knot.
It has been commissioned by FIVE in the UK and US network TLC.
Following years of weight gain and unsuccessful surgery Manuel was officially the heaviest man on the planet, leaving him depressed and on the verge of suicide.
With the help of doctors, he is getting his life back on track and has already lost over 30 stone. His recent proposal to long-term girlfriend Claudia is his biggest step towards a normal life.
'My Big Fat Mexican Wedding' follows the couple's difficult wedding preparations, as the groom is still bed bound, and includes intimate interviews with them and their families, concluding with the full ceremony in all its glory.
It will offer a very human account of what finding love means to Manuel, abandoned by his first wife because of his weight.
The documentary, which will be launched by DCD Rights at MIPCOM, was commissioned for FIVE by Sue Davidson and Brent Zacky for TLC. It will be produced and directed by Suemay Oram and executive produced by Sheldon Lazarus for September Films.
This is yet another coup for Sheldon Lazarus, following his deal earlier this year for worldwide exclusive access to film Thomas Beattie, the first man ever to give birth, for documentary 'Pregnant Man'.
Lazarus will also executive produce a further two new one-hour documentaries for September Films, 'Juliana: My New Face' commissioned by FIVE and 'Deaf-Blind Triplets' for Discovery Health US.
'Juliana: My New Face' is the follow-up to the acclaimed 'Born Without A Face', the story of Juliana Wetmore, who was born with Treacher Collins Syndrome - a condition that affects the face and head. Juliana, whose face is missing 60% of its bones, is the most severe case ever recorded. Now five years old, September Films' returns to document the life of Juliana and her devoted family, as they strive to help her live a normal life, starting kindergarten, taking part in her first dance recitals while undergoing more operations to help her function without breathing and feeding tubes.
Sue Davidson commissioned the documentary for FIVE. It will be produced and directed by Jon Clements.
'Deaf-Blind Triplets' explores the heart-rending story of triplets Sophie, Emma and Zoe and their parents' daily struggle to bring up the girls who are completely cut off from the world around them. Commissioned by Rita Mullin for Discovery Health US, it will be produced and directed by Jon Clements.
David Green, Chief Creative Officer, DCD Media, said: "These three new commissions further establish September Films' reputation for sensitively documenting extraordinary human stories.
"Gaining access to film Manuel and Claudia's big day and the weeks leading up to it is a real achievement by Sheldon and the team. Manuel has a fascinating story which will be translated into an inspiring, heart-rending documentary."
DCD Rights will be launching 'My Big Fat Mexican Wedding', 'Juliana: My New Face' and 'Deaf-Blind Triplets' at MIPCOM.
