Open Mike Secures BBC Radio Commissions

Award-winning independent producer Open Mike has scored four commissions from BBC Radio including 'The Lost WebLog of Scrooby Trevithick' for Radio 4 and 'The World According To Carr' for Radio 2.
'The Lost WebLog of Scrooby Trevithick', written by and starring Andy Parsons, follows the adventures of Scrooby Trevithick, who has gone missing but has left a series of recordings on his MP3 player, which record his attempts at discovering the alternative lifestyle world in order to discover himself. The cast includes Frankie Boyle, Marcus Brigstock, Dara O'Briain and Lucy Porter.
Radio 4 has also commissioned '4 At The Fringe With Michael McIntyre', featuring the best comic talent performing at this year's Edinburgh Fringe.
'The World According To Carr' sees celebrated comedian Alan Carr host a new comedy clip show - where he will ruminate on his own life while choosing a selection of classic clips as well as a range of newer material.
Open Mike has also been commissioned by Radio 2 to produce a second series of 'Does The Team Think'. Hosted by Vic Reeves, there will be a series of off-the-wall questions asked by members of the public with panelists giving off-beat and witty answers.
Andrew Beint, Head of Production at Open Mike, said: "We are delighted to have further strengthened our relationships with both Radio 2 and 4 with these fantastic new commissions. The talent we have associated with each from Alan Carr to Vic Reeves and Andy Parson highlights the company's already established reputation as a producer of quality comedy programming for radio."
'The Lost WebLog of Scrooby Trevithick' and '4 At The Fringe With Michael McIntyre' were commissioned by Caroline Raphael for BBC Radio 4. They will be produced by Paul Russell for Open Mike.
'The World According to Carr and Series Two of 'Does The Team Think' were commissioned by Lesley Douglas for BBC Radio 2. They will be produced by Paul Russell for Open Mike.
Over the past 16 years, Open Mike has created and produced around 50 broadcast shows and pilots, both for TV and radio, for all the major UK terrestrial and digital channels, spanning such genres as comedy, entertainment and documentaries.
