Pocket movie guide set for Edinburgh launch

Dr Elaine Murray, the Scottish Parliament's Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture & Sport, is to preside at the launch of Brian Pendreighs 'The Pocket Scottish Movie Book', at Edinburgh Castle on Tuesday October 29.
Commissioned by Scottish Screen, VisitScotland and The British Council, the book provides a concise A-Z guide to Scotland in film. Packed with intriguing information, little-known facts, maps and photographs, it is billed as "an indispensable guide to Scotland's contribution to cinema."
Maureen Sprott, Head of Marketing at Scottish Screen, said: "There is a tremendous interest from film fans about where productions are shot and who starred in them, we get requests for information of this type from all round the world. The Pocket Scottish Movie Book is just the thing to fill that information gap and there¹s so much more in it than just locations, it is full of other interesting facts as well. We are grateful to Visit Scotland and The British Council for their participation in the publication."
Philip Riddle, Chief Executive of VisitScotland said: "Film tourism is worth about £20million a year to the Scottish economy and we see real benefits in working with the film industry. A block-busting film has the power to boost tourism enormously. We are delighted to be supporting this book because it gives the reader the opportunity to make the connection between a film and a location and encourages them to go and visit."
