Focus Enhancements ships MediaConverter MC-2E

Holdan Limited, the exclusive distributors for Focus Enhancement in the UK and Ireland has announced it has begun shipping the next generation of the acclaimed Focus MediaConverter MC-2E, the ultimate Digital to Analogue converter solution for Broadcast and Studio Environments.
Continuing the tradition of industry leading video converters, the new model features internal 10Bit operation ensuring professional, high-quality bi-directional DV, 10bit SDI, analogue video conversion and a full-featured audio signal converter with connections for unbalanced stereo, balanced stereo, AES/EBU, and DV/SDI with embedded audio. The audio input can be selected independently from the video signal and all audio outputs are available simultaneously, enabling the MediaConverter MC-2E to embed or de-embed audio.
The Focus MC-2E must be the perfect complement for studios, working on popular editing systems such as Avid Xpress DV, Apple Final Cut Pro, Canopus Edius, Pinnacle Liquid and Adobe Premiere applications.
The MediaConverter MC-2E enables users to work with footage from any source - including video recorded on older tape formats - by converting it to digital video for nonlinear editing. As soon as the program is edited, it can be transferred to tape for archiving or broadcast.
The Focus MediaConverter MC-2E is equipped with a full-frame time base correction and can be Genlocked to a studio reference. Users of nonlinear editing systems can easily maintain the same timecode values as tape with bidirectional D-VITC to DV TC conversion. The MediaConverter MC-2E also includes an RS-422 interface that enables smooth conversion of RS-422 LTC to DV TC, together with RS-232 interface for firmware updates and system settings. Video levels, audio levels and colour phase (HUE) can be adjusted by the user for maximum control over picture and sound.
The 19" rack mount design offers flexible integration in any Broadcast and Studio Environments and can be easily added to existing AV racks.
