Reed Business Information selects New-Tek VT[4] digital video editing suite from Atrium

Reed Business Information, the UK’s largest publishing company, has implemented the New-Tek VT[4] integrated digital video production and editing suite from Atrium Communications, a leading specialist provider of video-based online corporate communication and training solutions.
Atrium has developed standardised turnkey VT[4] systems aimed at delivering maximum performance from this powerful tool. Reed will use the system at corporate events around the world, such as conferences and award ceremonies, to capture, mix and edit live video feeds. The video can then be re-broadcast in real-time and as highlights to outputs either at the venue or across the Internet.
The live mixing functionality that VT[4] provides will enable StageRight, Reed’s event production partner, to seamlessly distribute multiple camera feeds to television screens around the venue. The powerful editing tools built into the system will enable Reed to take live input and edit it into highlight reels, while the event is going on, for playback at the end of the event. The speed with which Reed can accomplish this is made possible because the footage does not need to be rendered before it is broadcast.
“The functionality of the new VT[4] system is excellent because it really takes advantage of the capabilities digital technology provides,” said Tom Perkins, Event Producer, Reed Business Information. “When we are at an event the most important consideration is the reliability and stability of our video system, because there is no room for error when you have to control live feeds. The VT[4] system provides this stability as well as the functionality for us to mix, capture and edit video from multiple camera feeds, and provide full visual commentary of the conferences and awards that we stage.“
