5 STAR CASES MOVE TO NEW PREMISES
5 STAR Cases, the Cambridgeshire based flight case manufacturer have moved into their new premises just outside of Wisbech, in the heart of the Fens.
The company now occupy over 22,000 square feet of production, administration and storage facilities.
Tying in with the move was the recent acquisition of the Thermwood CNC Routing centre. This system, a major investment for 5 Star, enables highly accurate and complex machining to be carried out on nearly all of the company's product range. The company can now offer direct toolpathing of clients’ own dxf file formats, particularly suited to foam inserts, corporate logos and case details.
Recent projects carried out by 5 Star Cases include a complete Multimedia System case for 'Communication by Design' (CdD). Carlton TV contacted CbD to supply a system for the recently re-launched ‘Thunderbirds’ TV series. The case comprised an IR remote controlled powered lift, which housed a DVD player and a 15" TFT screen. A glass cabinet mounted above the screen housed various models and figures from Thunderbirds.
