Altered Images strengthens university's resources

Altered Images, the Shepperton-based broadcast systems reseller, has strengthened Canterbury Christchurch University College's resources with an Avid Unity LANShare EX system, integrated with their existing Avid editing systems.
As part of a larger investment in Canterbury Christchurch University College's media facilities, Altered Images has also supplied and installed a Mitsubishi XL30 data/video suite projector in the College's new audio dubbing suite.
Nick Frith, Altered Images Project Leader, said: “From product demonstration to project management, Altered Images service continues to win significant education business. This project is another installation to support Avid's new Avid Academic Partnership (AAP), a new programme of partnership between educational establishments, Avid and Altered Images.
Altered Images sales and technical staff worked closely with Scott Taylor, Video Technician
in the College's FRTV/Media Department over a long buying cycle, from on-site product demonstration through planning to final installation, testing and training.
The equipment installed included an Avid Unity LANShare EX system in a purpose-designed equipment rack, including Uninterruptible Power supplies, KVM switches and infrastructure to connect to the client's existing Ethernet network. Altered Images also provided a complete installation, on-site system test and ongoing support services, including product training.
Frith said: “Altered Images has a long-standing relationship with Canterbury Christchurch University College, supplying and maintaining their Avid systems. The new Avid Unity LANShare EX system demonstrates the College's ongoing commitment to offering students the best possible equipment all backed up and supported by Altered Images.”
All the equipment supplied to Canterbury Christchurch University College was configured and pre-tested at Altered Images Shepperton HQ, before being delivered and installed on site.
