DTS CLINCH MAJOR SALE

DTS, one of the leaders in multi-channel digital sound for cinemas and consumer audio, have clinched another major sale.
Belgian DVD specialist Stay Tuned ordered a professional encoding and monitoring package.
Stay Tuned specialises in the production of DVDs for European and US film distributors. With the installation of the DTS encoder and decoder, it can now include DTS surround soundtracks, which are increasingly demanded by audiophiles and home cinema enthusiasts.
Olivier Francotte, Managing Director of Stay Tuned, said: "The market for DTS-encoded titles is growing very quickly and I think the Benelux market is ready for such releases. Home-based DTS decoder figures are rising, and people’s demand for high audio quality is widely recognised. We believe it will become the standard that every buyer can afford."
Chris Hollebone, Director of Pro-Audio in Europe, sais: "Our launch of 96kHz 24-bit 5.1 digital audio was extremely well received by the large number who attended our demonstrations and press conference. The sale to Stay Tuned proves yet again that there is a growing awareness of the superiority of DTS multi-channel sound, a superiority which we will maintain through major technical advances like 96/24."
Previously 96/24 was available on DVD-Video only in two channel PCM, and with some possible limitations to the video quality. With the new system DTS can exclusively deliver 5.1 channels in 96/24 along with full-motion video for feature film soundtracks, as well as multi-channel music programmes for DVD-Audio. (CD)
