CBC chooses Chyron for Olympic Games

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation is using the Chyron DUET and Aprisa VCS for the coverage of the 2004 Olympic games in Athens.
First debuting at the Sydney games in 2000, and then at Salt Lake City in 2002, CBC chose the DUET and Aprisa combination for the third straight Olympics in Athens.
"I believe that the DUET's ability for designing, updating and manipulating graphics and animations in a live environment made this decision an easy one for CBC Sports," said Phil Carmichael, Director of Creative Services for Chyron. "It's a real honour to know that our equipment is being used to help broadcast the excitement and the emotion of the Athens Olympic Games to people all over the globe."
Further, the multi-channel Aprisa VCS gives production crews the ability to have varied and multiple sources of moving video for backgrounds and set design elements. The CBC's reputation of providing 300-plus hours of Olympic coverage places a huge demand on graphics generation.
The DUET LEX and Aprisa VCS combination was the perfect choice. CBC Sports is yet another broadcaster that's part of a growing list to use the DUET LEX for its lLive broadcasting due to the speed, flexibility, real-time animation capability, and ease of use.
Carmichael added: "We commend the CBC for their coverage of the 2004 Olympics from Athens."
