Panasonic Unveils The LUMIX S5IIX

News Image
Panasonic has unveiled the LUMIX S5IIX, launching in May as one of two ground-breaking new additions to its LUMIX S Series mirrorless camera range.

In addition to the launch announcement, Panasonic has released news of a firmware update program for the LUMIX S5II, and a S Series lens price revision being made in Europe.

Showcasing incredible performance in both Video and photo capture, , the LUMIX S5IIX is launching in May, ready to fulfil the demands of the most ambitious creators.

With Blackmagic Raw (BRAW) compatibility, in addition to ProRes RAW, The Lumix S5IIX delivers ease of use and better quality than popular video formats, but with the benefits of RAW recording.

One of the first LUMIX cameras to offer Hybrid Phase Detection Auto-Focus (PDAF), the S5IIX features a new imaging engine developed within the L2 Technology partnership formed by LEICA and LUMIX, and a new 24-megapixel sensor.

In addition, the camera uses a new Phase Hybrid AF system. Fast and dependable, the new system can detect target subjects in difficult conditions such as low light and backlighting and, once locked on, will remain tracking them even with other moving objects in the frame.

With a wealth of video functions and recording options, the new engine also gives the LUMIX S5IIX video recording capabilities, delivering professional photo and video performance thanks to host of new and improved features.

A firmware update program for the classically styled LUMIX S5II will be available on June 13, 2023.
Delivering RAW data output over HDMI, the firmware update will also see the LUMIX S5II enjoy the same Blackmagic RAW capabilities as the LUMIX S5IIX, in addition to ProRes RAW.
The firmware update program will also include Live View Composite, enabling users to capture long exposure looks even in the daytime.
Seeing further positive additions made to the LUMIX S5II, the update will elevate the user experience, further enhancing the S5II’s performance with a whole host of innovative functions.

In addition to the new launch and exciting firmware update, Panasonic has also unveiled a fantastic lens repositioning across Europe, seeing prices reduced by up to 28%.
With both the LUMIX S5IIX and LUMIX S5II cameras compatible with the entire existing range of 14 LUMIX S lenses, plus further full-frame L-Mount system lenses produced by Panasonic’s L-Mount partners, selected S Series Lens price repositions have been made across Europe.
Showcasing Panasonic’s ongoing drive to take consumer feedback onboard, the downward price revisions aim to make the lenses more accessible in the current economic climate.
