Viaccess-Orca (VO) has announced today that Swiss Broadcasting Corporation, also known as SRG SSR, recently introduced a new card version of VO's Conditional Access System (CAS) for the security of its satellite TV distribution.

Embedded within set-top boxes, VO's CAS features the latest, fastest chipset and new-generation smartcard security, providing Swiss Broadcasting Corporation with a best-of-breed solution for content protection and rights management.

"As Switzerland's public media company, we provide an important service to society, broadcasting a wide range of content including news, culture, education, entertainment, and sports," said Simon Blumer, Head of Technical Communications at Swiss Broadcasting Corporation. "Having a CAS that is reliable and simple to deploy is imperative, and VO's newest smartcard technology is an ideal solution for us."

VO's CAS solution is trusted by more than 50 operators around the world for all types of delivery networks. As the industry's only seamless, end-to-end card and cardless CAS solution on the market, it guarantees the highest flexibility, a short time to market, and a quick ROI for Swiss Broadcasting Corporation. The new generation of VO smartcard is fully hardware-based, offering new cryptographic algorithms that allow Swiss Broadcasting Corporation to address the most demanding requirements from content owners.

"Swiss Broadcasting Corporation has been a valued customer of ours for 25 years, and we're excited to help the organization usher in a new era of content protection with our latest smartcard technology," said Pascal Birot, Vice President of Sales EMEA at Viaccess-Orca. "VO's new-generation smartcard is a game-changer for pay-TV operators and broadcasters, enabling them to carry out important tasks such as data encryption, authentication, and more."

VO will showcase its solutions at IBC2022 in stand 1.A51.
