Hitachi Kokusai To Display 4K Live Production Camera Innovations

News Image
The new SK-UHD7000 4K Ultra HD live production camera system from Hitachi Kokusai Electric America, Ltd. (Hitachi Kokusai) will make its first professional AV trade show appearance next month at InfoComm 2022.

The company's second-generation 4K camera system, the SK-UHD7000 will be demonstrated alongside other Hitachi camera innovations in booth N2175 from June 8 to 10 in Las Vegas.

Continuing the Hitachi tradition of delivering exceptional visual quality and superior price/performance value for live production applications, the SK-UHD7000 incorporates three 2/3" CMOS image sensors with native 4K resolution to enable pristine capture of 3840x2160 UHD video. The sensors’ global shutter technology minimizes unwanted artifacts such as flickering and banding that could otherwise occur when capturing video in event venues, television production sets, and worship environments with LED lighting and large LED displays.

The SK-UHD7000 also delivers extraordinary sensitivity and quality for Ultra HD production. Sensitivity of F11 at 59.94 frames per second enables high-quality acquisition in limited lighting, while a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 62 dB provides ultra-quiet images. The camera’s new prism design enables superior color reproduction, while its dual 4K and HDTV workflow enables seamless multi-format productions and supports separate controls for High Dynamic Range (HDR) and standard dynamic range (SDR).

The SK-UHD7000 combines its exceptional performance and extensive feature set with a price point that makes native 4K live production accessible to more customers. "The adoption of 4K production workflows is no longer limited to just broadcast and major sporting events," said John J. Humphrey, Vice President of Business Development at Hitachi Kokusai. "The SK-UHD7000 is ideal for broadcast and sports, but also makes premium 4K acquisition capabilities cost-effective for everyone from live event production companies to houses of worship. The camera was extremely well-received by broadcasters and production professionals when we unveiled it at the NAB Show, and we're excited to showcase it for AV integrators and content producers at InfoComm."

Established products on display in the Hitachi Kokusai booth at InfoComm will include the DK-H200 1080p compact box camera. The DK-H200's 2.6 million pixel, 2/3-inch MOS sensors deliver sharp, clear images and combine with advanced digital signal processing and HDR support to provide superior picture quality with low noise, faithful color fidelity and exceptional sensitivity. Highlighting the compact and lightweight camera’s suitability for robotic camera applications, it will be demonstrated in conjunction with a high-performance pan/tilt head from KXWELL International.
