Digital Orchard Appoints Head Of Operations

Digital Orchard has appointed Simon Brett as Head of Operations.

Simon joins Digital Orchard after almost eight years at Warner Bros, where his recent focus was keeping four production companies and dozens of TV productions working remotely through the pandemic. During this period, he also relocated the Warner Bros. Television Production UK (WBTVPUK) post-production facility into a new building whilst ensuring zero disruptions to remote edits, and also managed the transition of the workplace to an efficient hybrid working model, allowing remote collaboration between editors and producers.

Simon brings a wealth of industry knowledge and experience to his new role having worked in broadcasting and post production for over 20 years. He has taken broadcasters from SD to HD, overseen the launch of new linear channels, taken post facilities tapeless, developed file-based workflows and deliveries, designed and implemented on location best practices, deployed security criteria guidelines and grown and developed every post facility he has been part of.

Based in Chalfont St Giles, Digital Orchard is an industry-leading film and digital service provider offering unique end-to-end workflow and colour-management solutions from capture to post. They provide expert technicians on-set, colourists, picture post and deliverables services to feature film and HETV productions, as well as film scanning alongside processing partners KODAK.

Simon joins Digital Orchard at a pivotal time of business development for the company. He will be overseeing all operational activities of the company, helping to strategically drive the business forward and provide an exceptional service to the company’s growing client base. With his vast post production experience, Simon will play an important part in the growth of the facility and the expansion of its services, further establishing Digital Orchard as a one-stop destination for capture to post.

Simon said: "I am so thrilled to join Digital Orchard at such an exciting time. Their plans for the future are very impressive and I look forward to being part of this new phase for the business. Seeing the volume and variety of work they handle and the wonderful countryside location, were all factors that drew me to this role and I am very excited to have joined the team."
