Dominic Louks Joins IABM As New Events Manager

IABM has appointed Dominic Louks as its new Events Manager.

In his new role, Mr Louks will be responsible for the planning, delivery and execution of IABM's global events calendar.

Louks previously worked for the Fire Protection Association (FPA) for over 15 years. The FPA is a membership body supporting commerce and industry on fire safety practices, techniques and lobbying for improved safety standards. Having joined the FPA as Marketing Executive, in 2013 Louks moved across to RISCAuthority, an insurer property research scheme administered by FPA. During this time Louks acted as the main focal point for member insurers, reporting on scheme project activity, outputs and communications. He was then promoted to Head of Subscription Services in 2016, before becoming Head of Membership, Events and Publishing. Prior to joining FPA, Louks worked in the security industry for Cooper Security, managing the membership loyalty programmes for both the Scantronic and Menvier brands, after which he joined Croner specialising in health and safety publishing and copy editing.

At IABM, he will report to Head of Marketing, Lisa Collins.

"I am incredibly excited to have joined IABM and I can't wait to get started on delivering our extensive global events programme," Louks said. "The professional skills and experience I have attained, working predominately for membership organisations and bodies, will be a natural fit to my new role and responsibilities here at IABM, with the international member profile a real attraction to accepting the position.

"My previous roles have helped me understand the unique challenges faced by many membership companies regardless of sector, including recruitment, retention, engagement and benefit provision. With the broadcast and media technology industry going through unprecedented levels of change, I look forward to meeting with as many of our members as possible, learning more about the industry, and developing key relationships," Louks concluded.

Lisa Collins, Head of Marketing at IABM, added: "Dominic brings a wealth of marketing and events experience, predominately from within membership organisations, and is a fantastic addition to our highly skilled marketing team. He will play a leading role in developing and executing our series of hosted global events, including our new Executive Summit Series, as well as our presence at other leading industry shows."
