SAM To Feature At SET Expo 2017
Snell Advanced Media (SAM) will present its latest live production workflows and IP solutions at SET Expo 2017 later this month, it has been announced.
LiveTouch offers a sports highlights and replay workflow in either SD/HD or 4K/UHD and is tightly integrated with SAM editors to allow immediate collaboration between replay and production. Users are also able to instantly publish highlights and replays straight to social media.
Kula (available as 1, 2 and 3 M/E versions) handles multiple formats. A variety of control panels – up to 24 crosspoints – and access to up to 42 inputs makes operations easy, giving users more time to work on other elements within the live production environment. If working in 4K/UHD, Kula becomes a 1M/E switcher that can support 12G-SDI.
ICE channel-in-a-box and Morpheus playout automation solution meets all the operational, technical, regulatory and commercial functionality required for broadcast playout. ICE can be deployed as a software defined channel running in private cloud instances, providing flexibility for customers.
Masterpiece 12G-SDI is new and will be on display at SET Expo. It is a UHD master control switcher, and handles SD/HD/1080p and UHD. Masterpiece 12G-SDI enables broadcasters to move into UHD workflows without compromising quality and capability. Branding functionality, such as keying and DVE for squeeze backs and effects, is also provided. In addition, Masterpiece provides a control interface to SAM's Morpheus playout automation solution and when used together, the systems deliver content distribution and flexible device management.
SAM's IP Routing System supports multiple signal types including SMPTE 2022-6 and SMPTE 2022-7; VSF TR-03 and 04. The solution is also ready to support the new SMPTE 2110 suite of standards as adopted by AIMS. Other features include 40 & 25 GbE interfacing, integrated IP & SDI control, audio breakaway, audio & video processing, UHD over IP capabilities, SMPTE 2022-7 signal flow redundancy, and SMPTE 2059 signal timing.
The Vega 30, from the Vega suite of routers, will also be at SET Expo. The router is suitable for small fixed applications, such as small OB trucks and studios. It combines video and audio routing capability in a 3RU mainframe with built-in signal processing.
Also on show is SAM's LC350 compact synchronizer and video/audio processor. The LC350 fits into 1RU of rack space and includes processing and I/O including SDI, CVBS, AES and analog audio as well as fiber Tx/Rx and HDMI monitoring. SAM will also be demonstrating its MC2000 motion compensated, dual channel, standards converter with motion adaptive up, down and cross conversion.
