SHOPTV upgrade with Sundance Digital’s FastBreak Automation
SHOPTV Canada, a 24-hour infomerical channel servicing the Greater Toronto Area, has selected Sundance Digital’s FastBreak Automation to upgrade their automation system.
SHOPTV Canada is owned and operated by Torstar Media Group Television (TMG TV), a division of the Toronto Star. Sundance Digital is a leading provider of cost-effective, high-performance broadcast automation software solutions for master control and the newsroom.
SHOPTV Canada purchased a FastBreak Automation system with a Sundance ListSync Air Station shadowing the playlist in real-time for total on-air redundancy. The package also includes a Sundance SQL Data Server with browseable Web Inventory, and a Mirror/DataMover module to bi-directionally balance content between the primary and back-up video servers.
Matt Payne, technical supervisor TMG TV, did the necessary wiring and installed the FastBreak Automation hardware with ease. Sundance Digital worked directly with the staff of SHOPTV Canada to commission the system and implement software enhancements to meet several special requirements of the shopping channel.
"We were very happy that Sundance Digital incorporated the suggestions we gave them about the Prep Station application," said Payne. "The latest version of FastBreak has added features such as updating schedule time in the log, as well as many more. Allowing for our input has given us an automation system with more control and flexibility to change at a moment’s notice," he added.
