Pro-Bel secure Swedish TV contract

Pro-Bel, recently the subject of a management buy-out, have been selected by Teracom, Sweden's principal television, radio and telecommunications operator to supply an Eclipse 128 x 144 router, with an Aurora Control System.
The sale was completed through Pro-Bel's Swedish distributor Taurus ApS.
Teracom have upgraded their 12-year old Pro-Bel HD analogue router, which will run in parallel with the Pro- Bel SDI equipment until digital migration is complete. The transition will allow Teracom, a state-owned, domestic telecoms body, to route all qualified signals in and out of their Kaknaes Tower operation.
Prior to this upgrade, the Swedish operator used a string of converters; Pro-Bel's new SDI solution eliminates the need for multiple converters providing a superior digital signal quality. As a result of this installation and prior experience, Teracom envisages future developments with Pro-Bel as they properly continues to upgrade their sub-stations throughout Sweden. As part of the original tender, Teracom stipulated strict EU rules.
Arne Lillevang, Taurus managing director, explained: "Pro-Bel was the only company that could fulfil each one of the EU tender specifications. Furthermore, Teracom has been very happy with the previous Pro-Bel analogue router so the trust was already there."
Pro-Bel's managing director Graham Pitman was delighted to be selected in Teracom's digital upgrade: "Pro-Bel has been working with Teracom for a number of years and we are extremely happy to continue our partnership as Teracom continues to facilitate digital developments."
