Edgeware Brings New TV CDN Technology To IBC2016

News Image
Edgeware has announced that it will use IBC2016 to demonstrate to broadcasters, content owners, network operators, cable companies and OTT providers how its unique and scalable three-layer architecture, designed specifically for TV, will deliver services with no delays, buffering or glitches.

In a diverse market of content everywhere, Edgeware is enabling its customers to make TV amazing again. While TV and its associated technology has changed, audiences still want to come together to share the event TV experience – whether through social media or via mobile applications.

Edgeware's product demonstrations at IBC2016 will show how a TV CDN, as opposed to the general-purpose CDNs designed for software delivery, can allow broadcasters and network operators to benefit from low-latency and cost effective scalability as well as gain the ability to gather insight into its viewers behaviour through analytics.

"This is the first time we've presented our unique TV CDN architecture to visitors of IBC and it's such an important show because it's an event full of people that TV matters to," Joachim Roos, CEO at Edgeware, said.

"In today's landscape of fast, internet-delivered services, viewers want content quickly with no delays, buffering or glitches. We're looking forward to showing IBC2016 how to make TV amazing again."

Edgeware has built over 100 unique TV CDNs for content owners around the world including broadcasters like TVB in Hong Kong, cable companies such as Televisa and network operators such as KPN, TeliaSonera, Cincinnati Bell and Vodafone.
