IDX Technology at IBC 2003

Designer and manufacturer of batteries, chargers, and power supplies for the broadcast and professional video industry, IDX's ENDURA range is the established market leader in Li-ion batteries and chargers offering large capacity, lightweight and ‘no-memory’ performance.
Always innovating and striving for high performance, IDX aims to provide the ease of use and dependability needed for fuss-free power on the move.
The latest products on show include the new 55Wh upgraded ENDURA E-50 and E-50S batteries that now offer 3.8Ah, increasing their capacity by 15% to 55Wh. These complement the E-80 and E-80S batteries announced at IBC2002 which, with 82Wh capacity and PowerLink (on E-50 and E-80), allows docking a second battery when needed, provide extended running times – even on the more power hungry set-ups such as HD camcorders and the new-breed digital radio link cameras.
Also new at IBC is the new lightweight version of the popular VL-2 Plus two-channel, dual-format sequential charger that provides support for a wide range of IDX batteries as well as operating as a 60W power supply. It is highly rugged – ideal for all ENG and location shoots. This quick charge, go-anywhere workhorse gives optimal charging for the high capacity ENDURA V-lock battery packs as well charging the IDX NP range.
The new JL-2Plus charger and 60W power supply is lighter and tougher than its predecessor and continues to provide two-channel quick sequential charging for IDX NP NiCd and Li-ion batteries. By fitting a new V-mount top the same changer, now a VL-2Plus, supports the Endura E-50 and E-80 batteries – completing a NiCd to Li-ion transition.
For quick turnaround charging of multiple high-capacity batteries, true simultaneous charging, where each battery is charged independently all the way, is the only solution for large volume fast turnaround operations. The VL-4S is the only true simultaneous 4-channel Li-ion charger, and the ET-8 8-channel true simultaneous V-mount Li-ion Tower Charger, which is now delivering, stands alone extending this theme to the big-volume users.
As in previous years, IDX is supporting many other exhibitors at the show including JVC, Panasonic and Ikegami.
