Pinnacle Systems' Deko character generator selected by Eurosport

Eurosport, the European sports channel, has purchased seven Pinnacle Systems Deko2200, two Deko1000 and one post-Deko character generators as part of its new graphics layout operation.
Furthermore, NTL Broadcast, Eurosport's playout partner in the UK, has taken delivery of an additional Deko2200 in order to localise all multi region advertising and commercial content.
The solution, which is part of 'Cocoon', Eurosport's graphic broadcasting regulation system, was implemented following a decision by the company in January 2003, to completely redevelop Cocoon into a multi-country and multi-language platform controlling the whole graphics layout. The new solution went live in June 2003.
Marc Amiot, Eurosport's audio-visual IT manager, said: "Opening Pinnacle Systems' products to existing third-party applications has allowed Eurosport to develop a powerful, open-ended broadcasting application while taking full advantage of the wealth of features available in the latest generation of Deko character generators."
