Bryce Dallas Howard In Running For 'Pete's Dragon' Reboot

News Image
Bryce Dallas Howard has been announced for early consideration to play the female lead in Disney's 'Pete's Dragon' reboot.

It has been reported that Robert Redford is also in talks to star, with Oakes Fegley playing the title character.

David Lowery is pipped to direct the film, adapted from a script co-written with Toby Halbrooks.

The story is a reinvention of the 1977 film that revolves around Pete and his best friend Elliot, who is a dragon. The original film was a musical, but it is thought that the new re-boot will be a straight up narrative, using live-action with GCI to bring the fire-breathing monster to life onscreen.
