AT&T announces trials of media solutions

AT&T are set to announce trials of new broadcast capabilities for pay-per-view delivery and subscription-based web services to Internet users at NAB, booth S5523.
AT&T also will introduce a new Media Network Operations Centre (NOC) that provides monitoring and management services for the distribution of broadcast video and rich media content, using AT&T's network and broadcast-capable IP backbone.
All of the solutions to be announced at NAB are aimed to broaden the evolution of networking for the broadcasting industry.
AT&T is among the market's premier voice, video and data communications companies, serving consumers, businesses and government. Backed by the research and development capabilities of AT&T Labs, the company runs one of the world's most sophisticated communications networks and is the largest cable operator in the US. The company is a leading supplier of data and Internet services for businesses and offers outsourcing, consulting and networking-integration to large businesses.
In October 2000, AT&T announced a restructuring plan to create a family of four businesses, each operating under the "AT&T" brand, committed to uniform standards of quality. Under the plan, expected to be complete in 2002, each of these four businesses will become publicly held, trading as either a common stock or tracking stock.
In 2000, AT&T had annual revenues of nearly $66 billion.
